HOW CARRYING A BALANCE CREDIT CARD AFFECT MY CREDIT SCORE

Some feel the importance of maintaining a glowing credit score and naturally worry unnecessarily that carrying a balance credit card can adversely affect his credit score. Contrary to misapprehensions, having a balance credit card can even improve your credit score.

Determining a credit score involves a lot of factors of which the credit card balance is only one of them. Many things are reflected in a credit score like loan payments, defaults, delinquent payments, bankruptcy and foreclosures. With prompt payments on loans and credit purchases, not having declared bankruptcy and no foreclosure experiences listed in the credit report, then carrying a balance credit card should not worry you so much. In fact, if the cards are played right, a credit card balance can even improve the credit ratings. The only important thing to keep in mind is to never have late payments on any of the balances.

Moreover, to have a bad credit or no credit, carrying a balance credit card could be a help in building a good credit image to offset the bad previous record. It might be hard to shun away from the temptation but care must be exercised not to apply for any credit that you see too many credit inquiries can hurt your credit rating. Four to six inquiries within a 6-month period is considered too much.

Once you have a credit card, make small purchases and pay them promptly in order to build good credit at first. You can make larger purchases later when finances gets more stable but maintain a balance on your card making sure the minimum required payment is met on time. Carrying a balance credit card can enhance your credit rating since it would show that you are good at paying your debts.
