0 BALANCE TRANSFER CREDIT CARDS - BALANCE TRANSFER TIPS AND ALERTS

0 balance transfer credit cards can really deliver you thousands of dollars in interest payment savings if they are used in accordance with the purposes and intentions of which the the cards were designed for.

While the ads are keen in declaring that 0% interest rates are to be charged on the balances transferred on the new card, it does not mean that the credit card companies will get 0 income in their business. They will definitely have their own profits raked up while we must make the most out of their offer.

Tips and Tricks on the Balance Transfer Process

1. Watch the balance transfer fees. All 0% transfer credit cards charge a fee for the balance transfer.

2. See the length of the offer. Obviously, the longer the duration of the offer, the better. Today the longest offer is 15 months.

3. Never use a 0% balance transfer offer to increase your debt. This card should only be used to pay the previous balance of your bills, not to make purchases anew.

4. Plan what to do once the 0% introductory expires. You can either enter the remaining balance to a new 0% credit card or to a home equity line of credit which charges only a small interest rate.

5. Find ways to know how much is the interest rate charge after the offer expires. The new adjusted rate must be clear to you .

6. Look for cards that offer rewards also. Many of the credit cards carry rewards and packages which the credit card holder can enjoy.

7. Always bear in mind that even at 0% interest rate, it is still a debt ,and a debt has to be paid. You can take advantage of the 0 balance transfer credit cards and saved a lot of interest payments. But you still have a debt to settle.
